Andres Deik, MD, MSEd, FAAN, is a neurologist specializing in movement disorders. He serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania, where he directs the Experimental Therapeutics program at Penn’s Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center, as well as the Movement Disorders Fellowship Program. He is recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN) and is active in the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society. Dr. Deik earned his medical degree from Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia, followed by a neurology residency and a movement disorders fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. Dr. Deik also holds a Master of Science in Medical Education from the University of Pennsylvania, underscoring his commitment to training and education. An active clinical researcher, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on movement disorders and serves as a clinical trial investigator for new Parkinson’s and dystonia therapies. His clinical expertise includes advanced treatments such as botulinum toxin injections and deep brain stimulation for patients with movement disorders.
